"The Unholy", the horror movie that will be released in Easter.

Holy Week is the annual Christian commemoration of the Passion of Christ, some of us spend it with devotion, others take advantage of the holidays. This year will be a bit different, given that we are still in a COVID-19 pandemic. So Sony has taken the opportunity to link us a little bit of religion, but in a terrifying way.

Synopsis

The Unholy talks about Alice, a young woman with a hearing disability who, after having a supposed visit from the Virgin Mary, is inexplicably capable of speaking, listening and being able to heal the sick. Meanwhile the word is spreading and people from all over the world flock to witness these miracles. The news reaches a discredited journalist named Gerry Fenn (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) who, hoping to revive his career, goes to the scene in New England to investigate. A series of paranormal phenomena will make you wonder if it is really the work of the Virgin Mary or something more sinister.

The Unholy is produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Evan Spiliotopoulos, written and directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos, and is based on the bestselling book Shrine by James Herbert. Its premiere is scheduled for this March 31.
