Christina Aguilera's "Fighter" turns 18

As she herself stated, "Fighter" is one of her favorite songs on the album, preferring the singles " Beautiful " and " Can't Hold Us Down ". 21 Its release as a single was intended as a "comeback" after its earlier singles "Dirrty "and" Beautiful ". It's a totally different form of 'Dirrty' and 'Beautiful', generating a comeback with a bit of aggressiveness."


The music video was directed by the film and television producer Floria Sigismondi , who gave an interview to the MTV channel and said that in it, Aguilera will be seen like never before. She also related the song to nature, saying that both are about metamorphosis. and evolution. In this regard, Sigismondi designed a video that uses the nocturnal butterflies as the main element.


The relationship of the butterflies with Aguilera's interpretation is found from the beginning of the video, which shows it in a glass drawer, resembling a pupa. The singer breaks the glass case and leaves it. While walking, leaves black liquid, wearing a kimono of velvet forming a bubble on his back, relating to the state of caterpillar .


Shortly after, she undergoes her last metamorphosis wearing white and with several butterflies around her. The final scene consists of a vocal intervention by Aguilera, inspiring her makeup and wardrobe in the culture of the Far East . On the other hand, the video includes flashbacks of dancers. of ballet and various images of butterflies.


The song performed well on the Billboard Hot 100 where it peaked at number 20.
